Established CPA practice for sale in the La Jolla community of San Diego, California. The firm was founded in 1986 and has been operated by the same CPA, building a long-standing presence in La Jolla Village. The Seller is seeking a full practice sale and a reduced workload in anticipation of retirement.

2025 revenue was approximately $728,076 and is derived from tax compliance of $544,856, accounting, attest, and payroll services of $150,642, and consulting, advisory, and other services of $32,578. Average fees by service line are $853 across 362 Form 1040 returns, $1,435 across 85 combined Form 1120 and 1120S returns, $1,557 across 35 Form 1065 returns, $781 across 48 Form 1041 returns, and $980 across 19 Form 990 returns. Anticipated 2026 gross revenue is approximately $768,000, with Seller discretionary earnings of approximately $585,000.

The practice is operated by the Seller with one part-time administrative and bookkeeping employee. The Seller currently works approximately 40 billable hours per week during the off-season, and approximately 55 hours per week during tax season. Client interaction is mixed. Approximately 50% of clients transmit documents electronically, 25% drop off documents, 15% come in for an appointment, and 10% mail information.

This opportunity is best suited for a CPA or established CPA firm with individual and entity tax experience. The practice includes audit and review engagements. A Buyer who does not have attest experience or is not licensed to perform attest work is not a suitable fit for this practice. Because many relationships span multiple generations, a Buyer who is comfortable with relationship-based client service and limited in-person meetings will be the best fit. The Seller believes the practice should remain in La Jolla Village.

The practice currently uses Lacerte for tax preparation, along with QuickBooks.
