SOLD 2024 – CPA Firm for Sale. ref# REM124. This firm was established by the Seller in 2006 and now the Seller is ready to start working less. The Seller currently resides outside of California, however most of the clients are based in the San Ramon & San Jose area of CA. The Seller travels and stays in the Bay Area for 1 week during tax season in order to meet and collect data from clients. During this collection period the Seller uses a short-term & temporary office rental. With the exception of any simple returns, the Seller will take all collected documents back to their home office to complete the tax returns. The Seller typically completes returns 2-3 weeks after documents are received and will mail the final return to the client or finalize electronically. There is a limited part-time admin who works approximately 15 hours a week during tax season and around 5 hours a week in the off-season however, they do not plan on returning after the sale. Practice generates gross revenue of $169k from 373 Individuals with an average fee of $320, plus 83 Entities with an average fee of $499 (additional breakdown below), and $8k of revenue from 1 Quarterly Bookkeeping client. Firm uses Lacerte for tax preparation as well as QuickBooks. The clientele will transition best to an EA or CPA with a background in tax and will care for the client’s well-being.
